Queen’s Students’ Union announces partnership with PwC to build a generation of future leaders.
Queen’s Students’ Union has confirmed that PwC is to sponsor one of its flagship training programmes. The ‘Inspiring Leaders’ initiative aims to develop and strengthen the existing leadership experience of Queen’s student volunteers and shape their future leadership capacity and direction.
Queen’s Students’ Union and PwC will support students through an intensive ‘Inspiring Leaders’ development programme intended to help translate their volunteering experiences into employability skills. Participants will have the opportunity to meet leaders from different walks of life – learning from their experiences to develop their own personal leadership style.
PwC will participate in ‘meet the leaders’ and employability sessions, intended to introduce Queen’s student volunteers to existing community and business leaders, who will share their leadership experiences
Lucia Kearney, Volunteer and Development Support Worker at Queen’s Students’ Union said: The PwC sponsorship is greatly appreciated and will make a real difference to the Inspiring Leaders activities. We are very excited about the future development of Inspiring Leaders and aim to create more opportunities for volunteer leaders at Queen’s to engage in personal and professional development.”
Keith Hassard, Student Recruitment Manager PwC NI said: "PwC is delighted to support Queen’s and its students through the Inspiring Leaders activities."
“Obtaining a degree is ultimately what university is about, but it doesn’t guarantee an interview, let alone a job. In our deep and well-qualified graduate pool, employers are looking for team working, communications and leadership skills – and that’s what our participation in the Inspiring Leaders programme is intended to develop.
“As one of Northern Ireland’s largest graduate employers, our support for Inspiring Leaders is an investment to strengthen the region’s future talent pool and to help shape a new generation of PwC future leaders. We are looking forward to working with the Students’ Union and driving this initiative forward."
