International Buddy Scheme

International Buddy Scheme

We know how tough it must be for our international students to leave their family, friends and home country to come to university.

Our International Buddy Scheme connects students from near and far to help them feel welcomed in their new home here at Queen's.

Here are some of the events planned for this semester:

Initial Meet-Up - 16 Jan
Last year, 800 of our students got involved and we're making sure this year is even bigger and better! Come along to enjoy free food, games, craic and make lots of new friends.

Traditional Pub Crawl - 17 Jan
The party continues as we take a tour of some of Queen’s Quarter’s most loved pubs and enjoy the traditional folk music on offer. We'll be starting off by meeting at Students’ Union - Elmwood. There’s no need to register, just come along to The Speakeasy on Lisburn Road at 6pm. See you there!

Coffee Catch-Ups - 21 Jan / 4, 18 Feb / 4, 18 Mar / 1, 15, 29 Apr / 13, 27 May
Come along, grab a cuppa and have a chat with other members of the Buddy Scheme! International students - practise your conversational skills in a non-judgemental, relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Workshops - We’re planning a number of workshops throughout the semester in which you can focus on your personal development and increase your employability skills! Stay tuned for more info!
