Ireland Funds Business Plan Competition

The Ireland Funds Business Plan Competition, in partnership with NDRC, invites early stage entrepreneurs involved in technology to develop their business ideas and compete for:

  • The chance to win up to €16,000
  • A place on one of NDRC's investment programmes
  • Mentoring and other support for their business ideas

The aim of The Ireland Funds is to help entrepreneurs bring their idea from concept to pitch. This exciting opportunity is open anyone under the age of 35 years old, a resident in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland and at a pre-investment stage. Specifically they are looking for three things:

  1. A technology/digital proposition
  2. Global scalability potential
  3. A team (must be more than one person)

Ten business ideas will be selected to receive mentoring and support from NDRC through a series of workshops during the summer with the opportunity to compete to pitch for a place on one of NDRC's investment programmes, €16,000 in prize money and other support including mentoring and detailed feedback on ideas. There will also be runner-up prizes of €5,000 and €1,000

At the final, a judging panel of leading entrepreneurs, executives and investors will review the finalists' business plans and select the winners.

Last year, Evy reached the final round and had the chance to gain expert feedback on their ideas. Previous years, have seen Queen's students win €10,000 of investment for their tech start-up Area Labs, and Eve McClelland reach the final round for her product Embed.

Applications for 2017/18 are now closed.
