COVID-19
- All spaces will be cleaned every morning and particularly busy spaces will be cleaned throughout the day
- Cleaning kits are available in all areas for before and after use
- Only 1 person is allowed in the lift at one time
- Due to the restrictions on office capacity, we have had to make the decision to repurpose Clubroom 1 and Meeting Room 2 for Student Officers and Staff

The SU Shop, SU Elmwood
The SU Shop, located on the Ground Floor of the SU is open 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

What will the Union's capacity be?
We are currently open but with a reduced capacity, current numbers are as follows:
- Entrance: 5
- Foyer: 5 (including entrance to SU Shop)
- ATM Area: 8
- Lounge: 10–15
- Lounge Balcony: 2
- Clubroom 1: 2 (available from 5.30pm)
- Clubroom 2: 4
- Clubroom 3: 8
- Clubroom 4: 10
- Clubroom 5: 18
- Anne Maguire Room: 2
- Can I still go to the Union to hang out/study/rest?
The SU Building is open, so if you fancy a change of scenery there are spaces available from 8.30am-6pm, Monday-Friday.
- Call in to or email SU Reception to confirm availability
- Scan the QR code displayed in each room/area for our track and trace records
- Clean your space before and after use with the kits provided in each room
The Shop, located on the Ground Floor of the SU, is also open 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.
- Can I join SU Clubs & Societies?
Yes you can!Our fantastic SU Clubs & Societies are still active and would love to hear from any new members. Given the restrictions currently in place, in-person and sporting activity is suspended, but you can still connect online.You can join any Club or Society, or just learn more about them here, or if you haven't yet found your perfect Club or Society you can always give our Hook Up Quiz a whirl.
- Is the Union still hiring student staff?
Due to the ongoing changes the building now has a reduced capacity so there are fewer shifts than normal. So although we will are hiring some staff its in smaller numbers than what we normally do. Any vacancies will be advertised on our jobs page
- Will the Sexual Health Clinic still be running?
The Sexual Health clinic is back up and running in the Students' Union on select Mondays, from 10-3pm in Clubrooms 2, 3 & 4, 1st Floor, SU – Elmwood. Please find the dates it is running here.
Common Youth offer free, confidential sexual health advice to young people under 25. Contact them to arrange a telephone consultation at 028 9032 8866, where they can further advise you.
There are limited free home test kits available at www.sh24.org.uk – if you would like these to be delivered to the Students’ Union, email Bethany, your Student Officer Welfare, on su.welfare@qub.ac.uk in confidence to arrange.
If you have symptoms of an STI or a positive home test, contact the GUM service in the Royal on 028 9615 2111 (8.15am-10.15am Mon-Fri) to arrange a telephone consultation.
