Welcome to the Queen’s University Belfast LGBT+ Society! We are here for the entire LGBT+ community (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Asexual, &c.) at Queen's to provide social opportunities, support and events in a safe space. As well as acting to promote a greater awareness of LGBT+ issues in the wider community.

We are a diverse, open-minded and friendly group of people who I'm sure would love to get to know you. We are run by students, for students, with regular fortnightly meetings on Wednesday and/or Thursday evenings in the Students’ Union. On top of which we cook-up and take part in many events and campaigns throughout the year.

One of our main priorities is to provide a safe space – as such, though we would love to see all of your faces at our Freshers’ Fair stall on Thursday 28th of September, we also offer an alternative way of signing-up for anyone who would like to use it – by e-mailing the society and paying your fee at our first meeting you can still benefit from the Freshers’ reduced fee! We also have a secure forum on Facebook which acts as one of the main hubs of the society. Members can gain access to this forum by privately messaging our Facebook Page.

This year we have a variety of new plans on the horizon: whether it’s celebrating the diversity of the LGBT+ community, finding new ways to raise LGBT+ awareness and make a change in the wider society, getting out and about in Belfast or just chilling out and chatting, we are here to provide something to suit everyone. Any feedback & ideas are always welcome.

We are open to both LGBT+ people and allies, so if you are looking for support, friendship or information, we are here to enhance your experience at Queen’s and get you involved with a vibrant community.

Hope to see you at Freshers’ or come along to our next meetup!
Have a great year!
