Queen’s Radio presenter nominated for Sony Radio Golden Headphones Award

1 May 13

Christopher McBride, a radio presenter from Queen’s Radio, Belfast, has been nominated for the prestigious Sony Radio Golden Headphones Award, an award for the best UK-based radio presenter/DJ.

The Sony Golden Headphones Award is one which “allows the public to vote for their favourite radio presenter”, meaning that the overall winner will be decided by the public vote.

Christopher McBride currently presents “Young Blood” on Queen’s Radio every Tuesday at 6PM. The show focuses on some of the most exciting new music currently being released locally further afield, “from artists that you love, artists you’re going to love, and artists you didn’t realise you loved.” Having been nominated for the Sony Award, McBride finds himself competing against some of the nation’s top radio presenters, including Chris Evans, Nick Grimshaw, and even Radio Ulster’s Stephen Nolan.
