SU Shop girls run marathon for a great cause

3 May 13

Five girls from the SU Shop are running the relay in the Belfast City Marathon on Monday 6 May. Nina McKeagh, Terri Watson, Jade Wallace, Claire Malone and Claire Hoey are raising money for Headway – a charity which gives help and support to people affected by brain injury.

Terri Watson said, “We chose this charity as it has a personal significance to my family. Fortunately, in our circumstances we didn’t require physical support from the charity but they provided us with invaluable information on the nature of the head injury and what to expect.”

The girls will be running 26.2 miles and have already surpassed their fundraising target of £100. The SU Shop has been very supportive and has given the girls £50 to add to their total.

Claire Malone said, “It’s been a really great teambuilding exercise! We have loved training together. It has really brought the shop staff together for a great cause.”

The girls are still collecting and you can donate online or at SU Reception!
