‘QUB’s Got Talent’ final 11 have been chosen – tickets on sale now!

23 April 13

‘QUB’s Got Talent’, one of the Students’ Union’s largest events of the year, returns on Thursday 25 April to the Mandela Hall with a line-up that would turn even Simon green with envy!  From dancers, vocalists and musicians, to circus acts, slam poets and comedians - it is not a night to be missed.

The show, sponsored by The Signature Works and in aid ofSimon Community NI, will be hosted by local celebrity Malachy Cush, and both Julian Simmons and Isabel Jennings will join Head Judge Aidan Hughes, VP Community on the panel.  There will also be a VIP drinks reception, over 500 guests, a £1,000 prize, glamorous gift bags for all, three formidable buzzers and of course our 11 outrageously

talented acts - from medicine to law to engineering we have students competing from all over the University.

With a number of success stories from last year’s event - such as Major Sixth, the winning male Acapella vocal group, securing management, recording and shooting a music video, and opera singer Catherine McCambridge, now performing across the country – we can’t wait to see where this year’s ‘QUB’s Got Talent’ takes the acts!

A real sense of pride and support is also felt amongst the young people in our community by celebrating the talent found in abundance here.  Head Judge VP Community, Aidan Hughes said:  “This event is an exciting showcase and celebration of the young talent that we have, not just in Queen’s, but in Northern Ireland.  Following the success in 2012 we are proud to launch ‘QUB’s Got Talent’ 2013 - a show jam-packed with talent.  With our 11 amazing acts now finalised, I know it isn’t going to disappoint!”

Karen Heaney of the event’s main sponsor, The Signature Works, said: “The event last year was amazing and we’re delighted to be supporting the discovery of new top quality acts at Queen’s this year.  Working with QUB Clubs and Societies over the last few years has shown us that there is a great deal of talent at the University.  We’re looking forward to seeing the acts and wish them all the best of luck.”

With the event open for all; students, staff and the public, the tickets are already selling out fast - make sure you aren’t disappointed and buy yours for just £7 from the SU Reception today!
