Sisters of Mercy to play Mandela Hall this Summer

21 February 14

We're delighted to announce that English rock legends Sisters of Mercy will play the Mandela Hall on Tuesday 8 July.

Formed in Leeds in the late 1970’s, they have had some changing line-ups over their long career, but the remaining constants are singer Andrew Eldritch and drum machine Doktor Avalanche.

The current line-up also features Chris Catalyst and Ben Christo on guitars and backing vocals.

With three studio albums (“First and Last and Always”, “Floodland” and ”Vision Thing”), as well as compilations and EPs, Sisters have had many descriptions of their sound, mixing rock, metal, pop, and psychedelic, they describe themselves as an “Industrial Groove Machine”.

Sisters of Mercy haven’t recorded new material since the early 1990’s as a form of protest against their record label, before parting company in 1997. The band continues to tour and keep their new material for their live shows, which includes their influential back catalogue and dazzling lighting.

They have shared the stage with a wide range of artists, for example, the Ramones and Public Enemy and toured all over the globe.

Grab your tickets now! On sale priced £25 (excluding booking fee) and are available from Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.ie. Check out our 'What's On' Section for all the deets.
