Q-Con turns 21!

19 June 14

Kick-start your summer at Northern Ireland's biggest annual gaming & anime convention this weekend!

Q-Con (hosted by Dragonslayers, your Belfast Gaming and Anime Society) turns 21 this year, and they have planned a great weekend that’s jam-packed with games, anime and nerdtastic events from 20-22 June

Are you a fan of video games, board games or tabletop RPGs? Come and take part in casual play and tournaments across the weekend. Let your hair down and dress up as your favourite character, or visit some of the 80+ trader and artist stalls. Learn tricks of the trade from upcoming game developers, or just soak in the incredible atmosphere of thousands of gamers enjoying themselves!

Northern Ireland has a developing games industry of its own and Q-Con has become the centre stage for many of these home-grown gaming talents. There will be a varied and interesting schedule of gaming industry specialists appearing as guest-speakers and panellists at Q-Con’s Q-ED sessions, and local game developers will also have their games on show throughout the convention. Over 18s will enjoy nightly entertainment, with geeky DJs and the infamously difficult Q-Con Pub Quiz. Think you’re the ultimate geek-Einstein? Don’t miss it!

Q-Con welcomes a wide range of traders and artisan creators every year, so when the convention action tires you out, recharge your batteries with some well-earned retail therapy. A vast array of local niche traders and artists will give attendees plenty of opportunity to peruse their wares. From pixel art to plushies, we’re sure you’ll find what you’re looking for and plenty more. Prices are competitive and you’re sure to snag a bargain or three.

A full weekend pass for Q-Con costs just £20. Don’t forget that under-12s must be accompanied by a guardian, but non-player guardians go free. Head over to the Q-Con website for more information on all of the games and events, and don’t forget to like Q-Con on Facebook.
