Referendum 26th February - The Results

A Students’ Union Referendum Day took place on Thursday 26 October to consider the following proposal:

Queen’s University Belfast Students’ Union should strike on Friday 13 March 2015 to coincide with strike action planned by the Trade Union Movement. This strike should be part of a sustained campaign against cuts to university funding and austerity, as outlined in the Assembly Budget and Stormont House Agreement, and implemented by all of the Assembly Executive Parties.

The Results

954 students voted in the referendum with the following result

Yes                  820      (86%)

No                   134      (14%)

This is now a recommendatory policy of the Students’ Union.
